Tanzania Urbanisation Laboratory (TULab) Meeting.

    Date: Friday Jun 08, 2018

Organiser: Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF)

Place: ESRF Conference Hall from 08:00 to 12:20.
The Ministry of Finance and Planning in collaboration with the Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF), and the Coalition for Urban Transitions (CUT) established the Tanzania Urbanisation Laboratory (TULab) in August 2017. TULab supports national efforts on urban policy making and implementation by convening public, private, civil society, and academic organizations to identify problems, risks and opportunities facing cities in Tanzania. In September 2017, TULab commissioned three pieces of research required to produce a credible and implementable roadmap for better urbanisation in Tanzania. The first research is on understanding the current extent of urban infrastructure and services finance in Tanzania. The second piece of research describes the relationship between National and Local Government in Tanzania and its impact in the delivery of urban services and infrastructure. The third research piece provides missing urban data required to enhance investment in urban infrastructure in Tanzania. The research teams will be presenting their findings on the mentioned date.
